In the heart of 2023 I had the privilege of conducting a voice activation workshop at the Rise Up Gathering, organised by my dear friend Jelena Devi. An event that always feels like a family reunion to me, it brings together people from all walks of life and with the same curious minds & open hearts.

This year, my workshop aimed to explore the transformative power of voice, taking participants on a journey of vocal warm-ups, exercises, and collaborative song learning.

For me, the workshop wasn’t just a session; it was an extension of my passion for empowering voices. I believe that each person possesses a unique voice that deserves to be heard, and helping people discover and amplify that voice is my true calling. Rise Up Gathering provided the perfect playground to spread this passion, guiding participants toward the liberating experience of embracing their vocal identity.

The highlight of the workshop was a collaborative song, dedicated to Oshun, the Yoruba deity of the sweet waters. Guided by a shared purpose, we transformed a room full of diverse individuals into a harmonious choir. Through this, we feel the strength that arises when voices come together in unison. The experience reminded us that our voices carry weight – not only in the way they sound but also in the messages they convey. We rediscovered the importance of using our voices to uplift, inspire, and communicate authentically.

As the echoes of our song faded into the air, I couldn’t help but reflect on the beauty of the experience. The Rise Up Gathering 2023 voice activation workshop wasn’t just a session; it was a symphony of voices, a journey of empowerment, and a reminder that when we gather together with intention, we have the power to create something truly magical.
